Here it is.....

I'm one happy woman, that's for sure. I still have some touchups to do, but I have to go buy sample paint for that. Scary! We've never cut it this close before!

Now all I need is to put everything back away. Ahhhhhh. The fun of it all.

Now, I don't want to know what's next for at least a week! (month, year....)

All done

So, how long do I wait before I pull the tape? I can't remember. Pictures will follow when there is no more blue tape :D

Thursday and my buddy the paint brush

and I got busy. Today was taping and trimming day. It took a little over an hour to tape the molding, about an hour to trim the ceiling and FOREVER to trim the walls. The good news...it's done. YIPPEE. Now it's down to me and the roller. *sigh* Now I know why it took so many years to get back around to painting. NOT my favorite job. I have learned that it burns about 300 cals an hour. There's my educational tidbit. I work a whopping 45 minutes tomorrow (that's gonna look GREAT on the pay stub!). It cuts my day in the middle, but such as life. Hopefully I can talk my muscles into wielding that roller when I get home. We'll see.

the best news........it's 80 and sunny. What a relief!! I love the sun. I really do.

Hey, did anybody notice my new knitting project on the step stool? Hopefully my hands won't be too tired tonight!

No painting today

But I did wear a new sweater to work today. It's the heartbeat one by Just One More Row. I love it. It was a fun knit, not too complex, not too boring and I LOVE how it looks/fits/wears. I do want a white wife-beater to better cover ye ole sexy old woman bra straps, tho. No worries. it'll all happen in good time.

No painting tomorrow either. I work 2/3's of a day in two shifts. Whoop de doo. Hey, it's the last scramble before the summer....I'll take it.

And speaking of summer WHERE IS IT???? Tomorrow's high is 62. WTF am I gonna wear? The thought of jeans and a sweater is killing me!!!!

And things must look worse before they look better

Here's the proof.

The trim paint of the crown molding is done. The orange wall is primed (in the rest of the primer we had and the rest of the trim paint) Lookin' not so loverly. I work tomorrow and part of Wednesday. Wednesday I'll tape the top of the molding so that I can be prepared to paint the ceiling Thursday or Friday. I HATE CEILINGS! Okay, I love them as a structural element, but to PAINT. Bah! Maybe, MAYBE by this time next weekend we'll be done. I'm spinning laundry as much as possible today, and I need to clean....and I MUST iron or Jeff will be al wrinkly at work next week...and, and, and. PTL he's at the dc this week so he can wear jeans and t-shirts.

The tomatoes in the topsy-turvy thing are looking good. The veggies planted all look good...but I haven't seen a peek from the sqash or the green beaners......yet. Maybe by next weekend.

New paint.....finally?

A long, long, time ago in an idea far far away I decided we needed a cinnamon wall...just like I saw on trading places. We've been sick of our straight from the 70's burnt orange wall for several years (I'm thinking it's about 5). We've been talking about painting it for several years. This brings up two problems; who's going to paint it and in WHAT COLOR.

Looks like I'm painting, Jeff and Dee are prepping (Katie is hiding) and I'm going to be painting. Hang on to your monitors, updates will follow as things change hues.

You can even say you know somebody dumb enough to buy TWO. Now, I want them to work, and IF they do, you are going to know ONE happy TOMATO eating FOOL this summer.

Catching up and the start of a new sock.

It's May and time sure flies in May. katie had a good birthday, I had a good Mother's day, school softball ends tomorrow night, club swim season practice has begun and John's out with the golf team...so I'm doing a bit more subbing than usual. LOVE IT. Kind of. I miss some of the things that hit the wayside. Knitting, blogging, reading blogs being among the top of the list.

The house is as clean as it's going to get this week, the last of the sheets are in the washer and dryer, I have one more set of errands, and I have about an hour before there's more to do. Somehow I've got the closed captioning speaker guy on my computer on. I wonder how I did that. If I knew, I could shut him up! I also got a great new phone for Mother's Day, and I can't wait to figure out some more features. I can call, text and watch tv. Soon, I should have the internet surfing figured out.

Tomorrow is the last ALC downtown clean up. I'm hoping it doesn't rain. hopefully it'll go well. We'll see. I've worked some great ones and some miserable ones. (the 40 degrees and raining one hits the bottom of the list) We'll see. Then, it's all memories.

Hey. the sock. Do you like the sock? I think I do. I know it's just starting, but I'm getting pretty excited about it. I won this yarn from crystal palace......and I've started several different patterns. So far, so good on this one. We'll see. I'm also doing the heart throb ss sweater. I hope to have it finished with pics to wear to work sometime next week. Next week is going to be a doozie.....I work 4 days, Jeff goes out of town, K has a concert, D has 3 practices and an ortho appt. YIKES!!!!! Naturally, this week has been cold, damp and windy (right now it's sunny, windy and 51)...and next week is going to be mid 70's. Oh well. I'll just have to make sure to get out of the building from time to time or take a walk at the end of the day.

Just wanted to say that I miss y'all and hope to be back soon! And when I get back, maybe (MAYYYYYBE) I'll have a project done to share and some veggies planted. That'd be cool. Hey! The grass seed is coming up in the back under all those trees. This might be the 2nd time since we've lived here that we've gotten grass to grow back there. Niiiiiice.

5K Fun

Yep, 5K of WALKING can be both fun and rewarding. I am still shocked that by starting in the back and not trying to break too much of a sweat Dee and I came in at 54:11. I was impressed we did it in under 1:15:00. We walk from time to time and we are not known for breaking any land speed records. Except maybe for turtles or snails. The walk was to benefit the family of one of Katie's teammates. Her mom passed away earlier this year from breast cancer, and the proceeds went to her family to help offset medical bills. The softball game this afternoon was played in pink socks by both teams, and apparently the baseball and lacrosse teams did likewise. I love seeing community support in action.
Here's a pic of Katie, who helped work the race. WTG Katie. You are the best teammate any girl could ask for.

Here's a shot of Dee waiting to start.

Yep, it's my backside, to show the number, of course.

And here's all the people in front of us making that first left onto the trail.

Lastly, here's the second water stop named and decorated as the "Oasis". Thank you ladies. You made my day.

If I find another walk/run 5k that works into my schedule. I'm hooked. They can have my money for their cause, and I get a t-shirt, a number, exercise, and memories to last a life time. I believe I come out there winner here.

Don't forget to make a guess. Take a guess, any guess. Guesses are entries. I'll be closing this around mid-week. I'd like to get whatever the prize is in the mail before the rates go up on May 11.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
